The Laika Club of Gt. Britain was founded in 1989 when the first Laika vehicles were officially imported into the UK. It is the aim of the club to offer a forum where owners of Laika motorhomes can meet, exchange views & information & engage in social activities.
The club publishes a newsletter (3 or 4 times a year) & organises rallies (about 10 a year) both in the U.K. & abroad. Overseas rallies in recent years have been mainly to various parts of France but Italy & Ireland have been included. The club is independent of the manufacturers & any distributor although they try to maintain contacts & good relations with these companies.
One of the features of the club is, that although it is necessary to own a Laika in order to become a member, it is not necessary to leave if the vehicle is changed. It is felt that friendships established should be encouraged & not put in jeopardy by forced resignations.
