La Strada Club UK was conceived in 2000 at the Peterborough Motorhome Show then at the Bath and West Showground on 17th September 2000, the club was established by a small group of owners.
More than half of that group are still active members and the Club goes from strength to strength. Today membership exceeds 200 [100 vehicles].
The Club is an entirely voluntary organisation, run by members for members. Meetings are organised by one or other member throughout the year. The meetings are informal, friendly gatherings and, although some events may be arranged e.g. walks, visits to nearby places of interest etc., the emphasis is on freedom to do your own thing. Strada Club UK is licensed by ACCEO, the Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations, which gives us freedom to sometimes look for venues other than conventional campsites. Everyone who joins seems to say that we have a very distinctive, easy-going atmosphere! We keep in touch through the Members Pages of our website and regular Newletters.
Whilst the German manufacturers of our ‘vans (La Strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH & Co. KG, in Echzell, Hessen) encouraged the launch of the Club, they have had no direct input. From the outset we have enjoyed a very warm and supportive relationship with the Company, who respond to our queries and appeals for help, in English, and make us most welcome at the regular European events and factory visits. Members have been made to feel part of the extended La Strada family.
