Autocruise, the leading South Yorkshire based manufacturer of high quality coachbuilt motorhomes, has been acquired in a deal worth-�13m. The �16m turnover company, owned by chairman John Cockburn and his family, has been acquired by a management team led by former Swift Group managing director Joe Anwyll . The team also includes Autocruise's existing design & production director Gordon Bentley and Dave Garner who will be the company's new finance director. The management team plans significant expansion to the firm's existing production levels of 800 units per annum to take advantage of the increased capacity of the Company's new production facility and increased demand for its award winning products. Established in 1988, the company employs approximately 140 staff designing, building marketing coach-built motorhomes under the Autocruise, Pioneer and Thoroughbred brands. It was named UK Motorhome Manufacturer of the Year in February 2006 by MMM Magazine, won MMM�s Motorhome of the Year for its Autocruise Starburst model and was voted the Caravan Club's overall 2006 winner for its Autocruise Stardream model.
