With the rise in the cost of living, camping or glamping with Experience Freedom from the Caravan and Motorhome Club is a very affordable option.  Despite a recent surge in bookings, there is still availability this summer; prices for a family of four (two adults and two children) start at just over £103 for a three-night stay for a camping pitch, or £237 for glamping in a yurt.

Daleacres, Kent

For those unwilling to forsake any day-to-day comforts, staying in a yurt at Daleacres campsite in Kent is the ideal option.  These spacious yurts offer a real home from home with a reclaimed timber king-sized bed and two extra beds; wi-fi, electricity and all bed linen is provided.  This campsite is ideal for the whole family as some of the yurts are dog friendly, plus the popular Port Lympne Wildlife Park and the local beach are within striking distance.   Going slightly further afield, discover the sand dunes of Camber Sands, as well as Saltwood Castle and the traditional market town of Hythe.  Prices start from just £237 for a three-night stay for a family of four with availability for mid-week stays in August.

Again, with accommodation in a comfortable glamping pod, everything is on hand to ensure a hassle free holiday.  The market town of Moreton-in-Marsh is conveniently located in the heart of the popular Cotswolds, with its quaint cafes and boutique shops and a large market, conveniently only a short walk from the campsite. Prices start from £387 for a three-night break for a family of four with availability in the last two weeks of August.

York Beechwood Grange, Yorkshire

This campsite offers a great countryside base for a camping holiday on the outskirts of York, from the city’s bustling medieval streets to the coastal charms of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. This site is a popular location for families with plenty of green space and a playground for children.  Prices start from just £138.30 for a three-night stay for a family of four on a non-electric pitch.

Great Yarmouth Racecourse, East Anglia

Located next to the racecourse, Great Yarmouth Racecourse campsite is perfectly placed for those looking to explore what Norfolk has to offer. The campsite is just 300 yards from the seafront and close to many attractions perfect for the whole family. There is also access to a six-acre pleasure beach within the holiday resort of Yarmouth, which offers traditional seaside attractions.  Prices start from £105.90 for three nights for a family of four on an electric tent pitch.

Hunters Moon, Dorset

On the edge of the Wareham Forest, this campsite is in a quiet corner of Dorset yet the nearby town of Wareham is only three miles away with a good selection of shops and places to eat.  Visitors can explore the fields and nearby beaches – Durdle Door, one of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks, is just 12 miles away.
