When I was in my early twenties, my dream was to tour in a gypsy-type caravan pulled by a sturdy horse, a vision that never changed as the years progressed. At last, I have made the trip to the Emerald Isle, the horses being found under the bonnet of our Fiat-based motorhome and the gypsy-type caravan the living section of the same vehicle. Travelling in a motorhome doesn’t quite have the same romantic appeal as an open wagon pulled by a live horse, nevertheless Ireland and the Irish people didn’t disappoint me although we did learn that March is not perhaps the best time to visit if you are intending to use campsites.
