The National Feast of Lanterns, NFOL, is the Camping and Caravanning Clubs annual celebration when thousands of units come together with each of the 13 regions taking it in turn to host the event. This year it is the turn of the North East Region.
Over the weekend of 16th – 20th August 2012 members of The North East Region will be ready to welcome all members of The Camping and Caravanning Club to the 2012 National Feast Of Lanterns, at Long Newton Grange, Long Newton, Teesside. You can join us on Thursday and stay over on Sunday, the site is located just off the A66 between Darlington and Stockton, it has very easy access and is flat and compact (no long treks to outer pitches).
The organising group have been busy for a year or so, pulling together to produce a NFOL for all ages, The theme is “The Circus” which it is hoped, will give plenty of scope and colour, for the Mardi Gras, Decorated Units and Street Scenes, there will also be a “Torchlight” Procession and Pennon Parade.
The North East has a host of visitor attractions in the area, White Water Rafting and Canoeing are on the doorstep at the Tees Barrage.
Beamish Museum, Hartlepool Historic Quay, The Angel of the North, High Force Waterfall and the Durham Dales are just a short drive away, so come and stay at one of our Temporary Holiday Sites for a few days before or after the main event.
