The altitude sensor constantly monitors ambient air pressure and permanently adjusts the air supply for the burner by varying the rotational speed of the fan. When air density decreases with altitude the Air Top heater increases the rotational speed of the fan, supplying more air and oxygen into the heater unit’s combustion chamber. This guarantees an optimum fuel-air ratio, which enables an environmentally-friendly and fuel-efficient combustion process.
While an extra device has to be installed in other heating systems to achieve the best possible output with reduced fuel injection quantity at altitude, the Air Top Evo units automatically adjust to the given conditions.
Additional benefits:
Air Top Evo diesel fuelled air heaters are available in two versions: Air Top Evo 3900 and Air Top Evo 5500. Their sophisticated, continuously variable heat regulation systems ensure a steady, variable and constant temperature inside the vehicle at all times, even whist travelling, while their compact design enables either interior installation, for example in a small cupboard, or underfloor. Air Top heaters can also be installed in addition to a conventional, gas-powered heating system, resulting in significantly reduced gas consumption. This is very important for winter touring, as gas-powered heaters consume a lot of fuel – with frequent gas bottle replacement as a result. The Webasto Air Top Evo system uses the diesel available from the motorhome’s fuel tank, providing greater independence as gas is only required for cooking, the refrigerator and the boiler.
