WE LOOK AT THE MODELS

The 2009 line up from Lunar included the Preston built models and also the models from Belgium that they import, 12 Preston ones and ten layouts from Belgium one of which was a new van conversion called the Platine 6.4.
As far as base vehicles go Lunar have spread their cards between Fiat, Renault, and Ford. The “Roadstar” models all have AL-KO chassis, all the rest have the manufacturer’s own make.

The Platine and the Ford based Pinnacle RK are new layouts for the 2009 model range. The Platine is the first motorhome van conversation from Lunar.
The Pinnacle offers an end kitchen with an overcab bed layout to this Ford based range. This new model has Italian designed stylish curved two tone furniture doors, blown air heating, Thetford C200 toilet and a combined oven and grill.

The Platine is the first van conversion from the Lunar stable. Based on an extra long wheelbase 6.4metre Fiat Van this model has, we hope, great potential.
The layout offers a rear lounge that makes into a double bed offering a great amount of storage, a centre washroom, a swivel kitchen and front dining area.
The Platine also features 2-tone fabrics, stylish kitchen features and plenty of storage.

There are two Preston built models that lay claim to the “new” word, the Goldstar 650 which is a totally new machine, and the Roadstar 800 which has been substantially revised for 2009.

The Goldstar 650 is built on a Fiat 130 Multijet chassis and has an offside fixed bed, well equipped centre kitchen and a spacious side bathroom containing a separate shower unit. Other items include colour coordinated bumper, rear spoiler with high level brake light, a choice of top quality interior fabrics, mood lighting in the overcab bed area and many more.

The well selling Roadstar 800 has had some major changes for 2009, these include Webasto heating, this system was introduced to the Roadstar 900 in February and has proved so popular that it has now been introduced to the 800.
The Webasto diesel and mains electric heating with blown air is a sophisticated system that is mounted under the chassis thus freeing up more internal space.
The 800 has a very comfortable “island” bed layout with the shower on one side of the ‘van and the toilet and washbasin on the other side, opposite.

All the “Star” models have many improvements, as do all of the Belgian models, possibly the most striking looking is the “Vintage” pack, available on all of these models except the van conversions and the Renault models.
This consists of a coloured cab body and special outside graphics, new rear moulding, Alloy wheels, Bi-colour interior furniture doors, leather upholstery, special curtains, and a new exterior door.
This pack costs around £2,500 extra but would make your motor home stand out from the crowd.

All in all the 2009 collection from the Lunar stable has the theme of evolution rather than revolution, but are well built and satisfying products.
