A different Cameo
Yes, still a monster though, this one has two beds at the rear, a centre shower room and a kitchen opposite which has plenty of work area.
Again you will need a monster vehicle to tow safely.
OK let’s look outside
The front panel is in pristine condition with not even the tiniest mark visible to mar the appearance, on the offside the mains inlet and battery box is followed by the water pump inlet, this again is a twin axle, this time with polished wheels, the toilet access door and rinse water filler is just aft of the axle, behind that is the Alde exhaust vent.
The rear panel looks very smart with neat jewel lights and a grab handle that runs right across the rear, the panel also feels very strong.
The nearside has the gas barbeque point followed by the wet locker which has a 230 volt socket within, then the two axles, the fridge vents are over the axles, the entrance door is aft of the axle.
The whole is mounted on, guess what, an AL-KO chassis which looks as new, the polished wheels also look pretty and the tyres are as new, all in all the under side should give years of service for it’s next owners.
Is the interior as good as the exterior?
Let’s find out shall we, the first thing we notice are the removable carpets, this is such a good idea that we are amazed that they are not universal.
The layout is twin front settees, centre chest of drawers, behind the offside settee is the wardrobe and then the side washroom with separate shower.
Behind the nearside settee is the excellent kitchen, this one has acres of space to work with, a veritable cook’s delight in fact, we would estimate that the kitchen is at least six feet long so you can tell how much work space that is available to use.
The cushions are flat, predominately green and to our eyes looked extremely attractive. Before the wardrobe on the offside there is a TV/ computer station and as the aerial is a directional one you should be able to get a picture.
The rear of this Cameo is a lounge with a side table and two single beds, so a couple could leave the table made up, or if they were not on too intimate terms the two singles made up and use the free standing table, or permutations on that.
What about the shower room?
Although a side one it has plenty of room, the shower itself is a circular one separated by the slide round door, there is plenty of room to step out to dry oneself and /or wash at the basin, which is against the offside wall, or use the loo which is also against the offside wall.
Who will buy this cameo?
We are getting predictable, but we think that this is an ideal caravan for a couple who like their cooking, the kitchen lends itself to quite complex meals so that there would be no barrier to entertaining friends, they could even sleep over if too much red wine had been consumed. As long as your tow vehicle is heavy enough you can roam at will, perhaps not some of the Cornish lanes however.
