What a light and airy caravan
Absolutely, as soon as you walk in the feeling is of space and light, not like the railway carriage effect that you get in some caravans.
There were no carpets, we know that this is practical but in the weather prevailing at the time of our visit we would like to have had the floor covered, it gives the impression, at least, of being warmer.
As is our wont we will look outside first
The overall first impression of this caravan is extremely favourable, we thought that it was a really nice model.
The whole is mounted on nice looking alloy wheels and an AL-KO chassis which has an extra cross member bolted on to help stiffen the whole structure, the underneath looked totally like new, we don’t think that it had been taken out in any inclement weather.
The sides of this Adria are so very smooth compared to most British caravans, they also feel strong, is this an impression we wonder, the offside has the mains locker, a Truma water pump inlet, a Truma water heater flue, and after the axle the Thetford toilet access door with rinse water filler over.
On the near side is a barbeque gas point, a locker, an awning warmer outlet, and the fridge vents just forward of the entrance door.
One point worthy of mention is the excellent way that the waste water drains are run and supported, can our home grown manufacturers please have a look and emulate.
Is it as good inside?
You bet, as we said the feeling is of space and yet more space, although the woodwork is a little darker than some ‘vans it does not detract from the impression of light.
The layout is pretty conventional, twin settees with a centre chest of drawers, although there are no drop down doors to access the bedding lockers, the upholstery is predominately blue with a geometric pattern, this looks as though it has not been used, this caravan has been very carefully used.
Behind the offside settee is a normal side dinette with bunk mechanism over and a table storage cupboard behind that.
On the nearside behind the settee comes the Truma heater with two drawers above, going aft is the cooker, a small cupboard and this is followed by the Dometic fridge.
The sink is stainless steel furnished with a single action tap and there appears to be an adequate light over the kitchen and plenty of storage.
The washroom is full width with plenty of room for doing everything that needs to be done in a washroom without encroaching into the lounge area.
The fully enclosed shower is on the offside behind the dividing wall, the swivel toilet is behind that in the corner.
The washbasin is against the rear wall and the wardrobe wall, the wardrobe, which is a little on the mean side (size wise) for four people, is on the nearside and runs along the rear wall as well.
There is, apart from the wardrobe, plenty of storage space in this shower room, the one big objection about the hanging space, at least for us, is the fact that the rail runs at right angles to the door so that clothes behind cannot easily be seen.
Who will buy this Adria?
This is an ideal touring caravan for a couple, so we will plump for an adventurous couple that want to wander far and wide, both in this country and continental Europe, maybe also to take advantage of the extended holiday rallies offered by the clubs now, Spain for three months for example.
