This looks a good family caravan

Yes, if you have three or four children this would be an ideal caravan for you. If you have a large family like this you would almost certainly use sites with full facilities so the fact that the on board kitchen and wash room both are pretty basic would not matter to you very much.

Let’s look at the outside first.

The first thing that struck us was the size of the front locker lid, this means that you have a garden shed in the front to put all your “essentials” into, great care would have to taken therefore not to overload the front, remember that the towbar should not be heavier than 100kg, that is an AL-KO figure, your towcar maybe less.

The offside houses the entrance door, that’s it, the nearside has a water inlet running to a Truma water heater and the fridge vents are over the wheel, the mains inlet is just aft of the axle and the Thetford toilet access door is even further back.

The rear panel has two narrow windows running across the caravan, one each for the two bunks housed within.

The Adria sits on an AL-KO chassis which looks in pristine order and the waste pipes are beautifully supported even on this entry level caravan.

OK we’ll look inside now.

Willingly, again the first impression is one of space, yes we know that this caravan is of the maximum width that we can tow on the road, with a normal towcar, but the difference is only a few inches, but what a difference.

The front lounge is of the two settee design with a huge table in between, this makes the centre when the double bed is made up, at least you can stow this table to get it out of the way. There are cupboards all round at high level and the shelf under the front window is quite large.

The somewhat sparse kitchen is on the nearside behind the settee, it has a sink and a three burner hob, that’s it. There are two drawers and a Dometic fridge below plus some cupboards, few comments for a minimalistic kitchen.

Behind the kitchen is the wardrobe and behind that, across the rear are the two bunks for your duo of little ones.

On the offside aft of the main entrance door is a dinette which makes up into a narrow double bed, running further back is the small washroom complete with Thetford toilet, the sink tap is also the shower head, this system always causes leaks into the cupboard under the sink so care has to be taken what is stored under the sink.

This shower room is the night time loo run type only so it will be almost obligatory to go to sites with full facilities.

As far as lighting is concerned we think that this will not be a very bright caravan, obviously we had no chance to try it but judging by the paucity of lights this is our opinion.

Who will buy this Adria?

Almost without doubt a family man with a large family will be almost forced to consider this Adria, or another make with just any many compromises, the children will be able to sleep inside, and almost certainly the dad will have an awning which will take a little pressure off the space during the daytime hours.

Because of the basic kitchen and small washroom the family will always go for sites with full facilities including a site restaurant.
