Meals In Fields offers a cookery book on-line, full of recipes for easy to cook meals designed especially for when you are staying on a campsite.

Submitted by cooks in Motorhomes, Caravans, Tents, Boats and Mobile Homes, the recipes are suitable for barbeques, one pot cooking, small stoves with or without ovens, grills and hotplates

With short preparation times they will appeal to everyone camping, leaving plenty of time to explore local places to stay, places to shop and places to find good food.

The Meals in Fields on-line shop offers a wide range of accessories including BBQ’s, grills, portable ovens and hotplates, slow cookers, tents, awnings and a host of items to enjoy during leisure hours at home or away.

The Where to Shop pages include local specialist shops, butchers, bakers, grocers, greengrocers, fishmongers, delicatessens, family run food shops and regular markets and farmers markets where fresh ingredients can be bought.

Inspired by a letter in the Camping and Caravanning Club Magazine, Meals in Fields will become the biggest resource for anyone looking for ideas to feed the family in the confines of a camping kitchen.

All the recipes are simple to make, need few utensils and often just one ring.

The value of healthy eating is well known and restricted cooking space, or limitations on the amount of fuel available does not mean that we need to compromise on quality, or rush headlong down the very unhealthy route of pre-prepared meals and tin cans.

The recipes on Meals in Fields use only fresh ingredients, which can be bought in local markets whether in the UK or Europe – or farther afield.

Fresh food need not be expensive.  Feeding a family using local vegetables and fresh meat or fish is actually cheaper than buying ready meals for everyone.  For the newcomers to preparing fruit, vegetables, meat or fish, the glossary gives some simple instructions, and pictures explaining the terms used in the recipes.
