Knaus Owners Club

The 'Knaus Motorhome Owners Club of Great Britain' was officially formed during the first meeting of its members, on the weekend of 30th August to 2nd September 2002.

The founding members, Bill and Jean Sier of Cambridgeshire, had been responsible for forming the 'Laika' motorhome owners club some ten years previously and had guided it through its infancy to see it grow in popularity.

Bill and Jean changed their unit for a Knaus Sun Traveller and, upon realising there was no UK club (and subsequently very little support) for Knaus owners, decided to write to the 'letters' column in the Motorcaravan & Motorhome Monthly magazine in order to see if there was sufficient interest in forming a new owners club.

The resultant first meeting of the group took place at Waterfront Country Park camping site at West Stockwith, nr. Chesterfield, which saw eight units attend.

Their previous experience with motorhoming and their efforts to bring about a new club (with all its advantages) led them to volunteer in guiding this new club for the first year. The Hon.Sec.  is now Keren Nichols, .

A periodic news sheet, the Knaus Kontakt , is already in circulation and further meetings are planned.

There are currently 32 members with units in the group, and we range from the young (some more at heart than in years) to the retired and are spread throughout most of the UK.
