The New name for the Glendale Owners ClubAlthough Glendales finally ceased trading, around 1990, a great many of the early 1000 and 2000 L’s, together with their more expensive stable mates, continue to give good service today.
Following a proposal at the AGM in October 2004, the name of The Glendale Owners Club has been changed to The Glendale Club. This proposal was in conjunction with a change in membership criteria. In future, membership of the club will be open to owners of all makes of motor home. This reflects the fact that since Glendales are no longer in production and that the motor homes themselves are becoming increasingly aged. It is hoped that this change will encourage owners of other makes, who have visited our rallies, or who are friends of members, will become members themselves. This will, hopefully, ensure the continuance of the club after the motor homes become unserviceable. The Glendale Club is basically a social club, although we are happy to give advice on more technical matters if it is available.
Many of our members no longer own Glendale motor homes but retain their membership to keep in touch with the many friends they have made over the years.
Our rallies generally reflect this trend, with only a few actual Glendales being in evidence!
